The Identified Talent in Me and The Skills I
Have Developed: How I Intend to Develop It to Create Well for Myself and Take
Me Out of Poverty Between Now and Five Years (Short-Term and Long-Term)
v  Talent and skill
both relates to the ability of a person to work and perform on a specific task,
although the difference between two is from where the ability originates. Many
believe that people are born with a certain talent and that only these selected
individuals will be successful. But this is wrong however the concept of talent
is opened to different individuals with many interpretations.
v
Talent
is a natural aptitude or skill. (world English dictionary). It is also the
skill that someone has to do something very well that people usually like and finds
it easily to do in which others sees it as difficult in doing such. The term
talent refers to tam inborn and the special ability of a person to do something.
Talent is considered innate and natural.
v
Skill
in the other hand is an expertise, which is acquired but the person by
learning. Silk is developed with practices.
                I have identified the ‘SEWING’
talent in me (female dresses to be precise), yes, how did I find this. While in
secondary school I offered a course in home economics where we were taught on
how to make dresses both for male and females, young and adults, and I got to
discover that my dresses which I made after lesion periods goes a long way to
challenge the one made by our teacher then, this encouraged my spirit in taking
much attention in class especially when new designs of cloth were being taught
by the teacher. Sometimes, before the teacher could finish describing how the
dress will look like after the practical class, I have already created it in my
mind and this enthusiasm and eagerness to bring those imaginations into
realities kept me thinking of whether that was where my talent lies. However,
after series of competitions in the class my dress always comes out as

“THE BEST AMONG ALL”
I
see all different styles of female dresses as something appreciative and I
always tries taking my time to try new styles before the next tutorial. I do
the jobs most times(sewing) with ease although is time consuming but for the
fact that I derives joy in doing it and the satisfactions I gets from my customer’s
compliments encourages me to always try more. At the end of my stay in school,
I come up being the best designer in that year and that’s how I got the name
“THE MOST TALENTED FEMALE DESIGNER OF THE YEAR. Throughout my stay at home in preparing
for admission into higher institutions, I opened a small dress making company
where I spends most of my leisure time trying new styles of cloth. I have my
products with the name @FISA’S COLLECTION’ where I puts females’ imagination
into tangible creation.
v  What are the
skills I have developed or I intends to develop that can take me out of poverty
from now and in the future?
v  First of I have
been undergoing series of training in the other to get more skills that can
advance my talents. I engages in both online and classroom settings where I
learns about new discovery and designs to meet up with my customer’s demand. I
have partaken in many dress making firms such as;
THE EVIDENCE
SUPPER COLLECTION COMPANY, JIKA’S ANKARA MAKING COMPANY, NKEM DRESS MAKING
VENTURES ETC.
v  With this
experiences, I sometimes do part time jobs where I mends student’s cloths and
also sews cloths for them. I receive a lot of money in return and this have
been going along way to alleviate my financial dependency on my parents.
v  Finally, when I graduates,
I plans on renting a dress making firm where many sets of females dresses are
being made and sold, I have seen this dress making industry as one of the moving
manufacturing industry due to the fact that clothing is one of the basic
necessity of life and thus, the demand for it is on accelerating speed. I also
plans on expanding my skill so that I can have a large firm with a wide
employer of labor and I can achieve this by constant adaptation in innovations
that will give my product a unique nature which will make it to be able to compete
with similar products for the outside world
